The Bay Physiotherapy Centre began life as Devonport Rd Physiotherapy in 1988 when Physiotherapist Bryce Hamer and his wife Sharon, as business manager, arrived in Tauranga from Hastings. As a growing practice it was moved to Promed House in 1990 on the completion of the purpose-built Medical Specialist Centre.
A branch was opened at the Otumoetai Health Centre in 1998 to become part of the multi-disciplinary centre that included General Practice, Medlab, Podiatry, Counselling, Dentistry and Optometry.
As the emphasis of rehabilitation exercises increased, the clinic established a branch at the Greerton Aquatic Centre and Gym. As of 2018 Bay Physiotherapy no longer operates from this centre but a hydrotherapy program can be designed by your physiotherapist if required, which you can then use to work independently at the pool of your choice.
In 2002, a further branch was added in The Doctors Tauranga, (formerly known as CentralMed Medical Centre) when it opened, and another in Welcome Bay Medical Centre in 2005.
We now have two Highschool branches; one at Otumoetai College and the other at Aquinas College giving pupils and teachers access to a quality physiotherapy service at a reduced price.
The Bay Physiotherapy Centre believes in high quality, and leading edge treatment and service with highly skilled and experienced physiotherapists. We are also able to offer extensive rehabilitation and exercise programs to assist in your recovery with the use of our onsite gym at Promed House.
